The Great Lakes District is seeking nominations and applications for the following District awards which will be presented at the Joint ITE Midwest District/Great Lakes District Annual Meeting to be held June 3rd - 5th in dowtown Chicago:

  • Student Chapter Momentum Award (New!)
  • Student Chapter Award
  • Daniel B. Fambro Student Paper Award

  • March 1, 2020  - Awards Applications are due to David Addison, Great Lakes District Awards Coordinator ([email protected])
  • April 1, 2020 - Award Winner information is submitted to International ITE
  • May 1, 2020 - Winners will be notified and announced at both the Joint ITE Midwest District/Great Lakes District Annual Meeting, June 3-5, 2020 (Chicago) and at the Joint ITE International and Southern District Annual Meetings and Exhibition, August 9-12, 2020 (New Orleans).

Member Awards

Young Engineer Award

The Young Engineer Award recognizes an individual, under the age of 35, who has made and is making contributions to the transportation engineering profession, the Ohio Section, the Institute and one’s community.  Factors taken into consideration include Section and National membership and committee activity, positions and offices held, professional accomplishments, community involvements, and demonstrated leadership in one’s profession, ITE and the community.

President’s Award

The President’s Award recognizes sustained contribution to the transportation engineering profession, the Ohio Section, the Institute and one’s community.  Factors taken into consideration include Section and National membership and committee activity, positions and offices held, professional accomplishments, community involvements, and demonstrated leadership in one’s profession, ITE and the community.  The recipient of this award must be a member of the Institute as well as the Ohio Section.

Great Lakes Rising Star Award

ITE is committed to cultivating the next generation of our profession. As such, ITE’s Rising Stars Program has been created to identify the next generation and new faces of the transportation profession. It is designed to recognize members under the age of 35 who have already made an impact on the profession, have demonstrated the ability to lead the next generation, and have implemented innovative techniques to solve transportation problems. Each year’s Rising Stars Class will consist of representatives from ITE’s Districts. Each year, one Rising Star will be selected for the Young Member of the Year Award.
